    Help? Monster 900

Due to piss poor performance and bad economy I need to sort out the duc.

My trouble is I am on a limited budget and can't afford to throw money at it.

I was wondering whether anyone was able to help me if I were to buy a factory pro kit and install?

I could probably stumble through the exercise but would rather have a 'more Knowledgeable' sort hold my hand. I am looking at the kit and emulsion tubes for $250ish which would be about my limit.

I can bring beverages of choice and a willingness to learn but my nouse of carbs is rather limited.

    Cheers

    David

Is it the carbs that is the trouble or is the bike in need of a shim & belt check ? What other mods has the bike had done to it .

    Belts and shims are OK

Found the biggest problem was float levels (mostly sorted)

Also the main jet is smaller than stock (is 137.5 - should be 140) and the zorts have been gutted. I suspect i need a slightly larger main jet.

I got bored tonight so I whipped out the carbs and stripped them right down

Pedantically cleaned and blew out nooks and crannies

    Reassembled with 0 missing parts

Back in and took her for a short run down the road

    OMFG

What a difference - I now have a monster - 2nd gear throttle only wheelies

Bit lean in low circuit - going to check float levels/mix screw again, but I think she needs bigger pilot jets and main jets too.

    Installed kit

realised that i had read the main jet incorrectly

    Sposed to be 140 - were 70 - I have installed 145's

I get the feeling these aren't the original carb's. Nevertheless I think I may have them just so.

Waiting for the K&N's to arrive. What a debarcle getting those were. $350 and 6 weeks to get here says AMPS - $90NZ and one week off ebay. Once they're here I may go up a size anyways
