Gantry - new cafe in Ngongataha

Well worth a sunday cruise to if you're in the mood for good food, better coffee, and parking within sight of your ride.

In the centre of town, beside the creek, take the road behind the 4Square and you're there.

The owners gave us really outstanding service. How often does that happen nowadays?

I get good service most places, most of the time. Sometimes someone is having a crap day, but I have a few of those myself. It's not about me.

Even the BP does great coffee these days. What I don't see often, are quality muffins and other snacks, not that I can eat a lot of them.. oh well..

We've got a regular route around the lakes, it's nice on Scoot, but an experience on the neighbour's Hairley trike with MadBikeBabe on the back in the heat of summer.

I reckon Vegas has some good scenic rides.

How you doing by the way?

Sorry, posted the post before the caffiene started making my heart pump enough blood to my weary brain.

Speaking of which, followed the best truckie on Wednesday night, he was driving text book perfectly - and he even waved me through when it was safe to pass. Well impressed - it was a FastWays truck for anyone who cares.

Yeah, it does indeed. Wish I'd ridden more of them when I lived there. Oh - and you just need to watch out for slow-moving locals.

    Huh.
I was following one last week - it was night, little traffic, straightish roads, but I couldn't see if it was safe to pass, so had to follow the truck for 15 minutes or so. It would've been SO easy for him to just flick on the indicator for us. Maybe he was yet another Kiwi driver who takes it as a slight on his manhood to be overtaken.
