i think its spelt .... " l i a b i l i t y " or it may be " a v o i d a b l i t y ".
Speed differential is what racing is all about but differential at the start line is just a mess , remember when GP500s shared the grid with Moto GP? ask Gary McCoy.
I can turn away at the starts and deny anything happening but id prefer to watch and see a good clean start without the perils i have seen in the past . Dont do it is my plee.
Agreed as is why my thoughts of not riding in this class is I dont want to be on the grid were someone else doesnt get to go home.
Staggered starts have no problems for me its more the share fact is we get mixed up and you have some fast 650s at the front with 1000cc bikes behind them and it is a disastor waiting to happen

Make no mistake what i am saying , i have seen too many friends over the last 25 years killed , maimed , or just severely hurt and dont want to see any carnage happen . The trauma caused to everybody is just not worth while. You dont have to be injured or even connected to be effected and put off something , its vital motorcycling is seen to be proactive in self managment of safety and sensibility.
Racing is dangerous but you CAN limit some of the risk by taking sensible , easy re-visit looks at basic safety issues. Not hard and not costly.
Thanks for your support Mark et all.
Paul.
I reckon that Vic Club should just introduce a new class. That'll fix everything.

Lets not lower the laps but 20seconds would be enough gap to leave the fastest last starters to reach the slowest first starters in a smaller clump grouping than at the beginning.
I just keep thinking summer series with posties front of grid and clubmans at rear starting together and being surprised that a rsv mille manged to get advanced 4 rows before turn one.
I'm genuinely curious about this.
Can anyone tell me if it's been a problem in Posties with senior and junior gridded the way they are? I am not convinced the difference in start line acceleration is as significant as it is for the 125s and street-stock. The 125s and streetstock also have dramatic lap-time differences. Hence the staggered start. Have any "start-line fuckups" occurred in posties because of senior and junior being together? Have any "start-line fuckups" occurred because of a difference in capacity, or is it more because someone "fucked up" their start? Staggered starts have risks of their own. How many times have we seen a racer in the second group false start when the first group goes? It requires extra pissing around on the grid and for the timing people having to allocate grid position according to class, not simply qualifying position. The more complicated things get the more it can go wrong.
the norm is 6 out of 8 seniors on front two rows against 2 juniors and there is twice the norm seniors at this event.Pro twins being similar lap times in theory
It will be equally spread on the grid. Then you put 130hp against 80hp towards turn one with the posties needing to slow down first due to extra weight.Other than Chappy in postie juniors (80hp)the juniors arnt around at corner 1.Now we have more seniors and more 80hp bikes contesting the same corner at the same time with different entry speeds.
No problem if people are carefull
yea, I see where you're coming from Clive, but aren't we talking Posty Seniors and Pro-twins? I'm not in either of those classes, but I can imagine issues for them all coming off the line at the same time should the weather play it's part.
But hey, it's a dangerous sport and we all have to take due care... we all know the rules when we sign the dotted line.

I just looked at qualifying for the last round and it was 2 of each on the first 2 rows of posties. It doesn't seem to be a problem if people ride with awareness. I agree that starts and the first corner are dangerous places. I'm just not convinced that putting pro-twins in with postie seniors is any more dangerous than what happens already in posties. To my knowledge, nobody has ever been concerned about this. I would even suggest that the pro-twin bikes get off the line better than most postie junior bikes.
Wotz difference with F3 class then, mixed bikes, speeds, even 125's...they all start and turn into turn 1
WOW!ohh damn
