Best thing is, you can buy any phone to use on Telecom now. Since they run sim cards.
So I could get a duel sim phone and run on both networks but save pocket relistate?

Not entirely true. Your phone has to be able to use the same frequency otherwise it'll have shit reception when you switch networks. My old vodafone can't use XT because it doesn't use the same band. In saying that, the wifes old vodafone can. And from experience the iphone works HEAPS better on XT than vodafone.

So just swapping the sims can cause some problems.

We (wife and I) switched to XT because we had no reception at home. Fucked us off. The wife has had problems with txt not coming through when she was in the 'naki but it only lasted a day and it's been sweet since. We have noticed "issues" they've fixed as they have improved the network since starting it up (i.e. inline images within pxt messages).

In my opinion, the new networks are all about the data. They're trying to get you to use the web more from your phone because that's where they reckon the profit will come from. Mobile TV is free on XT until end of Nov so I've been abusing it A bit of a novelty but screw it, it's free.

And totally agree to learn how to use the camera. Last week I took some wicked shots with my phone while out for a ride. Granted it's a nice camera on the phone (Sony Ericsson) but the camera on the R6 will take reasonable photos.

    POS Phone

Im switching back to my Samsung, the R6 wont send txts and I find it it a bastard to use compared to my previous phone. Coverage is weak, the 027 network is better, we found this out over the weekend, mine had no coverage whereas Annes 027 did, takes me back to the early Bellsouth days

I was sure they said the coverage was better, which was only reason I said ''yeah ok'', I have seven days to return it if I dont like it.

No you cant switch it off but one little click sends you back to "old fart" mode

What a crock! Crap phone, crap approved dealer that sold it to Maha, I am still waiting for a call back after I got an answer service at 4:20 this afternoon. Great customer service from Telecom help desk. Back to old network, there had better not be any charge, as it was mentioned there is a charge to change back

    XT sucks!!!!!!!!!!!

Apparently it must be a faulty handset or sim card, we need to take it back to the shop we purchased it from to get it sorted, help desk did all the tech things that could be wrong. We did not buy it from a shop, it was sold to us on the phone and arrived in a courier bag. Our nearest Telecom shop is half an hour from here minimum, not going to get a chance to do that till the weekend, and at our cost. All the while, no ability to text.

The thing that got me though, on Sunday coming back from Palmy my crappy old phone had coverage and the new one didn't! I sent messages off Marks phone that no one got!

2degrees is so win. I topped up a few weeks ago. It's perfect for me. You get 22c calling for 30 days, not just til the end of the month, plus 100 free texts. Which I happily found out I had only used 50 so far. Plus i still had $14 If I were on vodafone I would have used it all already.
