I wonder why the Police haven't invested in a Water Cannon Truck? They appear effective at dispersing crowds and cooling everyone down.
    Here for the ride.

Cripes guys, you've all turned reactionary as you've grown older. They are just students, kids really, having fun centred around an event. Just like Capping.

It's become famous though and people now attend looking for a chance to bait the police. I can't help feeling that if they were ignored, it would calm down.

A few couches burning is pretty innocuous.

Maybe the police response should go like this?

Well couple of years back when the fire fighters tried to put it out (before police arrived) they had bottles thrown at the firefighters... someone was injured and the ambo was called bottles were thrown at the paramedics...

Police were called and the that is what you saw on tv...

Sorry, but that not innocent fun...

Actually I believe the fun police were in one of the cars on the way down.

I saw them leave Uni, all had good moustaches and aviators on. I believe I noticed several of them holding some confiscated alcohol as well!!

    Top notch job!

Might be handy to put out the bonfires in the middle of the streets ...

If the fire is left unattended and takes over innocent peoples homes then I guess the answer would be "yes"?

Or a drunken student falls into the fire and gets badly burnt ... hey. one did.

but just a bit of fun ... all the scar tissue from the burns will look pretty cool.

One student will not look back at the events of last night and laugh.

Yes I saw that on the news and I am guessing the taxpayer will be funding this students recovery through ACC?
