I would also add Akaroa, Hanmer Springs, the 3 gorges thru Oxford, or if your game enough Kaikoura. Great day so there will be lots of traffic, especially on the Akaroa and Hanmer roads. Have fun.

Thanks that is where I had my first accident and funnily enough it was on unmarked grit. Is there anywhere else to go as that is our usual ride? Don't know the area so have no idea. We are North of Chch.

Cheers. Kaikoura might be a goer, will also bear in mind 3 gorges. Only problem with good weather is it brings out all the old foagies in their cars!

Decisions decisions. As well as avoiding lots of cages would also like to stay away from those lovely peeps with those nasty speed cameras.

So is anyone comming past Greta Valley?
I would be happy to tag on the back of a possey if hedding to Kaikora or Hamner, even a scoot up the leader road.

Couple of options depending on how long you want to be out for

    A) Up to Greta Valley across through Scargill - Waikari and back through the Weka pass

    B) Up to Parnassus, across the Leader Valley rd to Waiau back through Culverden and the Weka to Chch

Watch for grit on both Leader and Scargill - Waikari roads, it wasn't to bad a few weeks back though

    C) Head to Ruapuna for the BEARs racing
