Can relate to Kaspers ants. I retch from the smell of ants. Once left my lid in a mates shed then when I put it on the ants started crawling all over my face. EEEEWWW!
Once had a wasp crawling around the inside of my visor but it didnt sting me. Had several bee stings on the neck...Murphy's Law, only time I dont wear a scarf I get stung.
Worst sting was a bumble bee up my sleeve. My arm swelled up from the knuckles to the elbow.![]()
Two incidents in the same ride. Outward bound to Waiiti for a coffee and discovered a wasp walking across the inside of my visorHead turn, open visor and out it went.
Returning from same ride and a bump at throat level turned out to be a bumble bee which got a few stings in through my tee shirt (inside my jacket) before a very quick stop to eject the intruder.
Yes, BiK3RChiK and nunesvaz it was 'that' ride![]()
i had a bee fly up inside a full face helmet i was borrowing. dunno how the hell it did it, but it suddenly appeared in my view as it came up from the chin piece. pulled over and stopped, trying to work out how to take the lid off without getting stung or hurting the bee. eventually i just opened the visor and it flew out again. lol.
i did have one wedge itself between the padding and shell of my open facer at 100k. went to flick it out while wearing fingerless gloves and got stung. its really hard to pull the clutch in when you are minus a main pulling finger. had another get me in the neck when i stopped at a giveway and turned my head to check, and another got between my knee and the tank and got squished. all 3 attacks were treated with honey. no pain and no swelling.
grossest ive gone up against was a white butterfly that smacked onto my sunglasses, right on the bridge. spread its guts over most of both lenses. had to stop at bulls and wash them at the bp. lol. white butterflies are yellow inside.![]()
Twice now i've had a wasp somehow fly in one side of the helmet, traverse across the visor from one side to the other and then fly out the other side, lucky. Of course being that its 20mm from my eyes they were the size of jumbo jets.
Had the worlds largest bumblebee hit my right on my adam's apple, coughing like buggery. Another time i had a Puriri moth dive straight into the middle of my visor and explode in to 100 pieces with goop spread all over 0 visibility! all i had was a couple of serviettes from the previous coffee stop.. Looked like green paint...
Sparrow in the chest at 160 - near knocked me off...

Um... two things: what does a bumblebee cough sound like? (I would've thought it would be kinda ultrasonic, and hard to hear...), and what similarity does it bear to sodomy?
Your comment about the puriri moth reminds me of when I was 17, and took a ride in the country at night, just after dusk, wearing an open-faced helmet. Face took a fair splattering from all the insects flying around, some of which felt very large and very juicy.![]()
... and that's what I think.
Or summat.
Or maybe not...
Dunno really....![]()
a wasp appared on my face once, i crashed
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

I did my basic handling test (also my first ever time in control of a motorbike!) in November 06. With all my gear on like a good newbie biker, out in the sun in the car park it was prett hot and sweaty.
At one point I took off my helmet and jacket and put them down on the gound while I rested in preparation for the next gruelling test of riding around the cones. Unfortunately I put the whole lot down on an ants' highway. When I put them back on there were ants everywhere! Crawling up my neck, down my back, over my face, in my hair & ears!
Of course I took everything off again and shook & brushed them off, but for the rest of the day I kept finding more ants tickling me all over - made it very hard to concentrate!
There is no such thing as bad weather; only inappropriate clothing!

Another time, I was riding to Coromandel (with Zed, actually) early in the morning, and near Kaiaua it was misty, so I cracked open my visor to stop it fogging up on a slow part. A couple of midges flew in, so I though, "No problem - I'll just blow 'em out!" and opened the visor wide, just as I rode through a cloud of them.
I had midges everywhere - in my eyes, up my nose, crawling all over my face. Luckily, apart from the one under my eyelid (which I had to blink out), I managed to blow most of them out in a midge-free piece of air.
Can relate to this too............go to move off from a set of lights....visor up just about to close the flap and then.........midge right in the corner of the eye.
Within a second or two the eye has puffed up watering, itchy and takes hour for the eye to clear again.
Nuts
