FFS! This sort of thing pisses me off!

Lets hope the bike is recovered in one piece, chances are it has been stolen by some drug hungry idiot that will attempt to part it out, wankers!

    Bike thieves

Not my kind of bike but.......whatever kind of bike is stolen the perp's need some serious dealing to.

This was emailed to me last night, please circulate it; (I have a pic but coz I've been speaking my mind on kb I can't attach it.)

    Formula 1 McIntosh GS1000 Stolen
One of New Zealand’s most famous race bikes has been stolen!

On Monday night September 8 the original McIntosh GS1000 F1 race bike was stolen from a secure Glen Innes business.

This was the very first McIntosh Suzuki to be built and is often referred to as the Keith Turner McIntosh.

Rodger Freeth won on debut at Hawkesbury 1980 and Dave Hiscock won his first NZ Open Racing class title on this race bike.

The bike has been restored to pristine condition and is easily recognisable do to the period paint scheme. This McIntosh can never be used or taken to a race track (or anywhere) without being instantly recognised, therefore it is worthless to anybody but the true owner.

Also stolen were a number of spare parts including an unused GS1000 2 valve head, crankcases, a pair of Ohlins rear suspension units and new Ceriani 38mm front forks.

Someone must know something about it, they may try to sell it as a whole bike?

A $1000 reward is offered by the owner for information leading to this irreplaceable bike. Contact Ross Peden on 027 672-3120, or your local Police station.

If you have a website or magazine can you please put this notice up as soon as possible. Copy this email to all of your friends - the more people who know about it the sooner it may be returned.

    Kind regards

Hopefully the scum will come to realise that this bike is to hot to handle and decide to do the right thing by giving what doesn't belong to them back.

    good luck...

A reward of $1000 has been offered

I'm a Police officer with the Howick burglary squad currently trying to track down a McIntosh Suzuki GS1000 that was stolen in September. I'm realise that the theft of the bike has already been talked about on Kiwibiker, but I was wondering if you would be good enough to run an article for your readers stressing the fact that the owner is now offering a $1000 reward for any information leading to the safe return of the bike.

For your information and that of your readers Customs have been notified as well as all export companies, bike breakers and motorcycle dealers.

    Information which may help is:

§ Stolen on the 8th September 2009 from a warehouse in Auckland was a McINTOSH SUZUKI GS1000. This motorcycle was hand built by Ken McINTOSH for Rodger FREETH to race in the 1980 New Zealand Open Season. On this bike Rodger FREETH not only won the Hawkesbury Road Race, but also a further 14 races that year. The bike was then handed to Dave HISCOCK who went onto win the 1981 Formula One championship on the bike.

§ This bike is a rare and irreplaceable piece of New Zealand motorsport history and one of the most famous of all New Zealand bikes. It had recently undergone a 5 year museum quality restoration with the extensive involvement of Ken McINTOSH.

§ Also stolen with the motorcycle were spare top and bottom crank cases, cylinder head and a handmade Steve ROBERTS fuel tank.

If you have any information regarding the theft of the motorcycle or its current location please contact either Howick Police on 09 538 0307 or phone Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

A reward of $1000 has been offered by the owner for the safe return of the motorcycle.

    many thanks
