Yup. Going to the Friday one
It's only when you take the piss out of a partially shaved wookie with an overactive 'me' gene and stapled on piss flaps that it becomes a problem.

GO, AND YOU'LL GO REAL FAR
    JUST PAST THE BIG QUASAR......
    INTO THE WHITE.......

Damn, I loved this show. I'm a fan, have been for years, and I thought in justification for the trip, Meh. if the come on and play Debaser, and Wave of Mutilation, I'll be happy, even if its shit.

    It wasn't shit.

Sure, they might be only doing it for the money (and I hope they made plenty), but they were tight, professional, organised, and are blessed with one of the best drummers ever, just driving them along.

I thought it was odd that Charles didnt say a word to the crowd, but whatever, Kim was sort of chatty, and they MELTED MY FACE: no mean feat from a hundred miles away up in the gods.

The second encore was actually my favourite part, house lights up and all, the surf version of Wave of Mutilation, in particular, and the blistering U - MASS.

    In short, FUCK YES.

It was educational, not to mention

    GIGANTIC.

Oh, and The Dead Weather on Wednesday..... cool.

I can but agree with you HDC...I wasn't initially sure if it was a great gig, or maybe I was just filtering it through not seeing them 20 years ago, but they fucking rocked. That reputededly shit Vector Area sound was fine right by the sound desk - so I'm still in love with Kim and her basslines.

Just what was with the number of chicks who seemed to be dressed for a Bon Jovi concert?

I also thought it was great but I was surprised with their choice of four obscure songs to open with.

Was also surprised that they played the second version of Wave of Mutilation - I far prefer the Doolittle version.

There were still so many great songs left unplayed.

I found the house lights being up for the final encore off putting but still came away happy.
