    Am I right?
Yup. Talk to Mike Pinfold 021 985958 or 07 3488850

Mike Pinfold is actually a dentist. He's a really helpful fella who has been doing all sorts of experimental electronics-enthusiast bits and pieces for many many years. I was introduced to him something like 20 years ago, and he had a boffin-shed full of boffin-bits back then. He only mucks around with bikes and radio stuff because he enjoys it.

He's our type of guy, so look after him I reckon.

"What Steve said pretty much summed it up."
"I did axactly as you said and it worked...!!"
    "Wow, Great advise there DB."

Mike Pinfold may be a top joker, but his gear is underspecced and doesn't last.

    You will be disappointed.

We've had several goes at kit from Pinfolds. We own two perfectly good Uniden walkie talkies as a result.

Common and recurring problem 1: The plugs are underspecced. Plugging and unplugging wears them out. They will last two weeks, tops. By two weeks I'm talking about riding every day for two weeks, with several stops each day requiring kit to be coupled and uncoupled.

2: The PTT buttons are underspecced. They'll last for anything between 3 days and 3 weeks. But they will fail.

    3. The microphones are flimsy and the foam covers wear out really quickly with helmets being taken on and off. And movement on the wire cable the enters the mike will break it.

    4. The helmet speakers are unreliable. You'll find that one or both will fail in reasonably short order.

Given that any of the above faults can occur singly or in combinations, then the amount of time spent faffing around and problem solving, looking for the bit that's failed, sending it back to Pinfolds for replacement, etc, is the reason that I don't recommend this stuff. I've got a bunch of Pinfolds stuff here that's free to a good home. Some will be OK, some is poked. In most cases I don't know which is which.

And what about when you go "Holy fuck..... that was close!" Bet you wish you didn't have one then, cause you'd have a sore head, or something, when you get wacked a good one! LOL

Thanks, an opinion is worth noting when there is substance behind it. Many have little
