    Engine wanted for MadAss 125

I have a Sachs MadAss 125 scoot bike.

I want to replace the engine (Chinese crap) with a decent japo one but open to any other suggestions. The engine is not restricted in anyway but basically is gutless and not free revving enough.

I am hoping there might be a Honda 100 - 150 type single cylinder that might suit. The single cylinder must be more horizontal than vertical.

Any ideas or can someone direct me to an engine supplier.

I can get a race engine designed for it from the U.K but meantimew I wnat to see what I could do here in NZ first

hey - how did you go with this?
i'm looking at buying a madass for my commute.
the engine is a honda CT110 clone - isn't it?
    would a thumpstar motor fit?

Hmm, I'd be keen to know as well. Although I am looking at the 50cc MadAssat the moment, considering the good price and kit/value for money. You could also try asking at www.madass-forum.de, they have an English section for enquiries - they are usually quite quick at giving real answers.

Hi, I can't help you with sourcing an engine, but I'd be interested in buying your 125 engine for the madass if it's in good nick and you don't need it. I bought the 50 a few months ago, and I'd like to swap the engines over once I have my license.

Where are you at with this re engine ?
How about putting in an original Sachs rotary 160cc ,8 hp, no gearbox of course but 4800 rpm must be good for something.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.
