On the way into town at about 5:30, there was several cop cars down mangaroa hill road, and heaps of people in black clothes, almost like the armed defenders squad. Then down the motorway, I see a white van with bullbars front and back and its lights going.
Then on the way back, once we got to the lights outside the dairy, we were detoured by some cops to go down mangaroa hill road, then through some back streets to get back onto the main road. The stretch between the lights and Caltex Rimutaka was empty with cop cars at opposite ends detouring traffic.
