Global peace is possible if a outbreak/pandemic occurs around the world, third world countries would look to the central powers for medication and money, resources. A world alliance, all sorts of charities and funds made to stop outbreak, appeals and propaganda for the citizens to unite and fight the virus. Military would be on call for dispatching food and resources, rescue. Wars and weapons would be halted in production, more money spent on health care etc. This would work provided the initial riots and civil unrests blew over and the citizens realised they cant get through it alone.

Global peace is easy as long as there is enough of everything for everyone. We don't fight for race, religion or ideology. We fight for food, water and space. Anyone who tells you otherwise is just making excuses.

You live in a land of plenty. You don't realize that there are hundreds of millions of people out there who do not have enough clean water to drink or food to eat.

    http://www.worldhunger.org/articles/...cts%202002.htm

"Children are the most visible victims of undernutrition. Children who are poorly nourished suffer up to 160 days of illness each year. Poor nutrition plays a role in at least half of the 10.9 million child deaths each year--five million deaths. Undernutrition magnifies the effect of every disease, including measles and malaria. The estimated proportions of deaths in which undernutrition is an underlying cause are roughly similar for diarrhea (61%), malaria (57%), pneumonia (52%), and measles (45%) (Black 2003, Bryce 2005). Malnutrition can also be caused by diseases, such as the diseases that cause diarrhea, by reducing the body's ability to convert food into usable nutrients.

According to the most recent estimate that Hunger Notes could find, malnutrition, as measured by stunting, affects 32.5 percent of children in developing countries--one of three (de Onis 2000). Geographically, more than 70 percent of malnourished children live in Asia, 26 percent in Africa and 4 percent in Latin America and the Caribbean. In many cases, their plight began even before birth with a malnourished mother. Under-nutrition among pregnant women in developing countries leads to 1 out of 6 infants born with low birth weight. This is not only a risk factor for neonatal deaths, but also causes learning disabilities, mental, retardation, poor health, blindness and premature death."

How can there be peace in a world where so many people have to watch their children suffer from starvation. How can you call someone who will fight to feed himself and his dependants a "greedy little wood grub"?

WE may not. But the muslims do.
It's only when you take the piss out of a partially shaved wookie with an overactive 'me' gene and stapled on piss flaps that it becomes a problem.

As long as there are good looking women in the world, and men who want them fighting will always continue.
    Basic instinct, reproduction .
Above greed for money or power, there is the sex drive,
Behind so many conflicts are women.
I dont mean this as a put down for women, they are beautifull in all ways,
its just that our brainless head leads us to try and seek the affections of that which is not ours, thus we invoke the wrath of the sexes.
Wars have been started over women, and by women since time began.

"Do not lust after your neigbours possesions, be it his wife, his daughter, his job, his vehicle, his house , his power"and you will have harmony.

Be honest guys, how many of you see a good looking women, and want to nail her. Then if you do , get caught, the war begins.

Peace between all people's? Not as long as we continue to be sexually driven beings..
This is just my opinion and WILL be different from many of you.
But I have a right to express it.
oh Yeha, let the flaming begin
To be old and wise, first you must be young and stupid.

I think the only way global peace will be achieved is if the human race ceases to exist.

People will always have diabolically opposed views, and there will always be radicals prepared to "defend" or "enforce" their view.

in alot of societies we learn to tolerate other peoples diabollically opposed views and live side by side with each other in "relative" harmony. We have some very robust debates and differences of opinions but, we live together peacefully nonetheless.

It just seems to me that in some parts of the world (often those countries with the longest history) even the smallest difference of opinion is dealt with harsh violence..... like in the middle east.

Global peace is easy so long as competing religious and economic systems have no contact. So they don't compete.

Just so you know, most religious systems are economic systems primarily. Just wrapped up in a vengeful-but-loving invisible man/woman or men/women theology paradigm.

Just so you know, 9 billion people could live in the southern states of the US and each person would have on average enough space to not be able to easily see in their neighbours window, so we aren't competing for resources.
Our economic systems are competing for the rights to resources.

The reason Catholic priests are celibate is purely economic. Patrilineal inheritance was stripping the Catholic church of troops and money. The Second Lateran Council made some noise about being married making priests do bad stuff, but the reality was, if your eldest son didn't become a priest, the church lost a military asset, property and money when a priest died.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?
