    GP **SPOILER***

What a great first race, rossi brilliant win on the last corner, gibby turned in on him I reckon not rossi's fault.

The commentators mentioned they saw rossis foot come off the peg, but he did that most laps coming in to the last corner, will have to check in the morning if the results stand

And Sete hurt his arm so much bashing in to rossi that he couldn't play with his champagne as he had thrown all his toys from the cot!!

    The result stands

Gotta say I'm pretty suprised, looked too me that Rossi ran way way deep into that last corner and forced Gibernau even wider and into the gravel. As the commentators said last year, Tamada did the same to Gibernau at Motegi for second place and was excluded from the results. Wheres the consistency? Can't believe that the Movistar team didnt lodge an appeal, might as well hand the trophy to Rossi now, if they're just going to roll over on something like this

Exciting stuff waiting for Rossi to pounce, and then he did!! From the overhead shot you can see sete turn into Rossi at corner entry and they hit,it's after that Rossi takes him wide - did it upset Rossi's line or did he punish Sete?

Colin Edwards 9th in his first race with Yamaha, what you might expect, but Rossi won his first race on a Yamaha, then won the Championship with it.Rossi has another enemy...does he do this on purpose? I don't think so,he seems such a happy guy.

the onboard from setes bike looking back shows that as well, you can clearly see rossis bike in the picture and then sete just turns in hard and fast straight in to rossi

Have to say I agree with Gav on this one.

Sete was simply 'turning in' as said, on his race line. Rossi appeared to me to have gone in too hard, trying to stuff it up the inside of Sete and get past at all costs. Sete was in front when he got hit from the side/behind.

Whats with the foot off the peg thing ? Looked to me like Rossi wasn't in control, hence rode into Sete.

Yeah, I missed it too; remembered it was on, then forgot to tape it.
    Must've been quite exciting.

I liked this version of the race report:

    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

Both Camel's infront of the aresehol.. err sorry, sole Repsol Honda left running.

NIcky was very impressive early on though.

Poor old Casey Stoner too. Going REALLY well.

if you watched to whole race carefully you would of seen that rossi took that corner with his foot hanging off the peg like that most time the camera was on him him for the last corner, and from the onboard shot from setes bike you can see him drop it right in on top of rossi hard, which would of caused him to sit it up and run sete off the track!

Pretty bizarre to take your foot off the peg for a corner don't you think ?

Anyone got any idea why he does it ?

It appeared to me that both riders went into that corner wanting the same piece of track, but Sete was in front and Rossi would have almost certainly been on a line that would have run himself wide - albeit for some Honda assisted braking.

I would have liked to see the Movistar Team lodge an appeal so the officials could decide on it.

yeah i noticed on one lap early in the race and thought he had fucked it up but he kept doing it one quite a few occasions, i dont know wether his foot comes off or just he just cocks it out with his toes on the edge of the peg, ok this pic shows it kinda off, plus it was his second bike

but it also shows sete turning in to rossi and rossi's line not lloking too bad, maybe a bit hot........

Rossi had been running wide on corners he was too hot on all race,Sete did a couple of repasses on Rossi when he did it - so Sete knew this was a problem Rossi had...a smart racer would of let Rossi take the corner, cut to the inside and retake the lead at the exit,Sete had a point to prove...and didn't make it.If the roles were reversed how would Rossi take it? He's too cool to spit the dummy...he knows 50% of the racing is off track, advantage Rossi....
