Nice! Exactly what I was thinking. The snow job on "Gibbernow's" confidence just started.

Yes Rossi went in hard. But thats what you get in the last corner of Racing.
Rossi's line was ok,,(slow motion replay), Seta didn't like the idea of being taken again on the last corner,, so turn in on him to Make an Incident of it!

If you knew that, why didn't Sete - he was there for one reason only,to block Rossi...and it didn't work...he could of put Rossi into a low side and won,but didn't.Just a racing incident between 2 of the best riders in the world,it could of gone either way, they both know that.

Stupidest move I ever saw, could have put them both out for the season in the first race.Rossi doesn't need to do that shit to win,he's proved that.If he's gonna play that way for the rest of the season,it's gonna be messy....

He only has to do it a couple of times early on and then Sete does it all by himself.

If anyone has ever watched club racing at brands you'll know that druids is the corner where a lot of that kind of argy bargy goes on. Its was quite common in the 600 class for riders to cut in on the inside and leave the turn late so the outer rider runs off.

I think rossi went in a little hot, but I got the impression that Gibernau tried to put the old shoulder lean on him and he responded with the old up and under lift.

There is a pretty good shot of rossi's clip-on digging into gibernau's arm. Must have hurt a bit.

As much as i like Rossi, he was in no doubt too hot into that corner. Foot off the peg, he would've been taking it off after shifting gear to set his foot higher up on the peg, that foot off moment was a oh fuck way too hot, foot off moment, no if's or buts about it. They were both lucky not to go down, Sete even luckier to still get second.
These two (Rossi & Gibs) havn't been to gooder buddies since the Qatar incident last year. As you can imagine Gibs wasn't too impressed with the move, why should he be, but it stands. Gibs should've won and had Rossi beaten in my books.

I'm impressed by Gibs statement about the incident as follows:

Speaking after the race Gibernau said, “We set a really fast pace throughout the race and in the end I slowed down a little to see where Valentino’s strong points were. We pressured each other hard and in the end I have the peace of mind that I did everything I could and that in general we’re already at a high level at the first race.

“It’s going to be a long and hard championship. I don’t want such a great race to be reduced to what happened in the final corner. I love this sport and I don’t want to get involved in politics, I just want to stay strong and calm and remain focused on our dream. I led the race from the start, I wanted to have a look at Rossi’s pace and I think it was the right strategy. We have to keep going now.”

    From MotoGP.com

Well done to Gibs for being reasonably level headed about it. Whats done is done lets move on. Really it would've been fair to punish Rossi in some way, i don't think Gibs would've seen him coming, he should've expected it and moved over to cover the line, but hey what the fuck do i know do you see me on an RCV???

Here's to a long fantastic season, of both MotoGP and Superbikes

The commentators mentioned that Gibernau and Rossi have been playing "No speaks" since that protest about Rossi's crew prepping the start position in the desert last year. So there was no love lost there anyway. I did note though that this didn't stop Gibernau having a few words with Rossi immediately following the race.

I'm still wondering about that thing Rossi did with his foot...

One of the most interesting things about the whole commentary was the mention that HRC has a new head man. The guy who was considered responsible for Rossi's departure seems to have been replaced.

Nah, rossi was well in his rights to go up there. Sete should have closed the door and pushed rossi to the outside then he would have won. The foot off the peg thing was just the normal thing rossi was doing. Yeah he did go in hot but sete could have still won the race if he had used his head. Also I think the reason why rossi kept running wide is because when sete touched he pushed rossi's brake off and caused rossi to go a bit wide.

I think it can all be summed up as a racing incident, bring on estoril!!!

    Good call K14.

All I know is Rossi has set a precedent that I can use in the next race I'm in.

Doesn't have to look pretty,,, Just has to work!!
