Cleaning oil from front brake pads

Maybe everyone already knows this but just in case you don't, I want to share it with the world. The front brakes on my fine Honda CX400 were really bad because oil from the front shocks got on them. I fixed the shocks but the oil was still there so I took out the pads and boiled them in a mixture of dishwashing detergent and water. They are now perfect!

Sounds like a good idea, that...

$10 Brake cleaner also works well in my experience with the same issue. Spray on - wait a couple minutes. Ride away

Sounds like one of those "when we were kids we didn't have any of that fancy tinned stuff, my mum used to make us soup by..." speeches.
