    +1

I've run two rides so far that I wouldn't have gone on otherwise - both ended with my bike in a ditch.

In the future I'll probably just hand off organisation to someone else.

Summer is coming and SMCTNR's will be more popular.
I'm not a huge fan of pushing my limits in darkness.

I fully think the SMC needs an event organiser, and i wouldnt mind doing that role.
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

well come to the next AGM then

we decided the role was unnecessary and could ultimately discourage people from organisin' shit

In all seriousness, as club safety officer I recommend on any club rides you must wear a high vis vest, carry the first aid kid and at least two mini road cones in case of an accident. Its the least you can do.

Well I carry a first aid kit regardless...

    having a fluro won't hepl other's safety..

and cones are far less effective than people waving down traffic.

Dont ask us if you are ready, ask yourself danae. If you think you are confident enough then rock on.

Actually, If you have to ask someone if you are ready to ride a road, then give it a little more time.

Again I am happy to put around with you and watch how you ride, I am no instructor but it is helpful

I have never seen you carry a first aid kit. I carry on in my mac pac, and it aint small, so I dont know where you been hiding it....

You gotta wear a fluro, its part n parcel with the job.

Cones are great for cordoning off areas.

You mean the confused panic where people wave at all and sundry coming towards a crash site. It has to be calm and organised....we should do an accident scene control course...hmmm not a bad idea actually.

Considering how you rode around Kaiaua, you're more than ready.

don't worry about doing your first group ride at night, I did. If you do go, just stick near enough to the person in front so you can see the corners clearly, its alot easier to do it when you have someone elses headlight in front of yours

She asks whether she would be alright to do sh16 and you think doing it for the first time and in a group that it would be good to do at night?

And you advise that she should try to rely on the rider in front of her?
