NZ Boutique beers: Emersons, Three Boys, Renaissance, Wigram, Tuatara, Moa, Dux

Belgian: Rochefort 8, Rochefort 10, Chimay, Duvel, Leffe, Maredsous, Nostradamus, Westmalle, Timmermans lambics.

UK: Fullers range, Wychwood range, some Greene King, some Marstons...

Other: Coopers range (Aus), various Austrian brews....several others from time to time.

All good beers with a wide spread of flavour profiles. Most of these put the local commercial swill to shame.

The big boys lost the plot many many years ago and have still to find it again. Their brewing philosophy is ruled by the beancounters who care not a jot for quality - just money. They work on quantity sales and therefore produce the least offensive product they can at the cheapest price. They promote over-consumption in order to maximise their profits. They go out and get bogus copyrights covering generic terms (Radler springs to mind) and then use it to threaten tiny little microbreweries like Green Man who dare to produce a style that conforms to the generic description. Big money bully boys is what they are. Bastards. Fuckem.

    Microbrews rule...

    Mmmmmmmm.....beer!

Mikkeller from Denmark.......N๘gne ุ,- strange but rather moresome, Nelson Sauvin Single Hop IPA is very pleasant, and Black Hole - a 13% Imperial Stout - thick, syrupy and coffee chocolatey in taste......sort of combining 2 in 1.

American beers, IPA's and Double IPA's - oh yes - virtually anything by Stone, Russian River or Dogfish breweries, espec. Ruination Ale, or Pliny The Elder!

If you can find any out this neck of the woods, of course.........

    Free Tuatara

Look for the coupon in the Capital Times, valid for one free Tuatara at the Malthouse until 7/10 (for you Wellingtonians)

Regardless of brand the best tasting beer is paid for by someone other than yourself.
