Based on where your sig says you are, you might be better off with a dinghy instead of a bike.

Bit of subtle humor attempted there. Guessing it wasn't my best attempt. Or then again, perhaps it was? Hmmm...

AMPS or Holeshot? I don't think I've seen an R in the metal, but they look tasty enough in the comics. And the modded suspension seems to have made the bike a real handler. Good on Triumph for getting it right.

You must have a bucket of sheckels lying about to be able to score a brand new trumpet. I'm more your "buy second hand because it's all I can afford" type of bike buyer. If it wasn't for Honda's 0% interest thingie going on, I wouldn't be sniffing around the new viffer.

Good luck with the haggling and post pix as soon as you have your hands on the beastie.

    Cheers,
    Andy.

And there I was thinking I was going to be unique. Poop.

Oh well, "safety in numbers", my Mum used to say. Although she also said that "colour TV has no future", it's only fair to remember.

Anyway, (having lost the thread of the thread, so to speak,) I'll do my best to fit in. Thanks for the welcome post FJRider.

Salut. (Posh for "cheers", as I've written "cheers" about a squmptillion times so far on KB and it might be getting a gnat's stale.)

    Andy.
Hahaha - got one of them too, plus a couple of kayaks

Neither - buying it through the Triumph dealer in Hamilton, Heath Boddy.

Based on what I've done to the Blackbird, and the fact that you can't get an R in black, I'd sooner do my own suspension work later in the piece using top of the range componentry like Penske or Ohlins.

Big welcome to you RavenR44. I'd say from your posts on here, that you have certainly got the hang of the friendly banter here on KB.

Have fun, as I'm sure you will.....

You're a braver lad than I Blackbird - I can pretty much admit that a spanner man I am not. I'll do the triple clamp drop on the VFR if I get it, maybe swap a filter or two, that sorta thing, but will most likely leave any truly critical stuff to (cue spooky music) "the ones who know".

The weather's fining up a tad so this week looks the biz for a test or two. Wish me luck. And all the best to you if you're out kicking tyres as well.

    Cheers.

Thanks for the welcome words Crazyhorse. Good to be here. And if that's your picture in the avatar, I'm moving to Havelock North this arvo.

Nice to be here and thanks for taking the time to say hello.
Um... keep my hand on what exactly? Any guess I make will doubtless have lecherous overtones which I'm sure are the furthest things from your mind.

Catch you in the depths of the forums, no doubt.

Edit: Fatt Max - Got the PM, but can't reply as a message tells me my site involvement is insufficient for me to use the PM system which may be its polite way of telling me it doesn't trust me. Or I've offended it in some way. I gettem, but can't sendem. However, to anwer your question, I live in 'Outer St Heliers', better known a Glendowie. Used to live in Bucklands Beach, Half Moon Bay, Eastern Beach, Pakuranga Heights and Howick, so I have a decent handle on the area. Also lived briefly in Newmarket and Birkenhead. And don't tell anybody but I also lived in Nelson, Wellywood and Christchurch, not to mention The Black Isle, Glasgow and Troon. Think that's all - at least enough to be going on with.

Good stuff! Also good that you have them as a more local agent. A workmate has had a very unpleasant time getting his Triumph repaired in Auckland at "the major" dealership...
