Whats the deal with slower riders?
Do you wait up every now and again so slower riders can catch up?

I don't want to hold anyone up.
Note: Please read 1st page... updated with notes.

1.) don't look at the bike in front of you.... look at the road instead.

2.) don't try to follow another bike if they are too fast for you, cause you'll be pushing your limits

3.) smooth = fast, but you can't be fast and NOT smooth. Refer to rule 2

4.) ride like you own your lane, its the responsiblity of the rider behind you to pass safely if they are faster

5.) re rule 4, exception would be if you are passing cars. after passing cars you should move into the left side of the lane to create space for other riders that will be passing the said car and need space to pull in.

6.) have fun and NO pressure!

O.K. after 2.5 hours, putting the fairing on 5 times, copious amounts of swearing, 2 walks around the block to cool off - all just to put the f-----g
indicators back in - I am ready for tomorrow.
Will probably go thru Whitford & Clevedon & onto the Hunua Rd. then via miranda.
I will be a bit earlier than you guys but you could catch me otherwise I will be at Kopu Mobil by 11.00a.m.

Bullshit, there's nothing smooth about the TL and it's reasonably eh fast.

Looks like Saturday has to be my riding day from now on, only last 3 Saturdays I've had to work cause of my useless staff going away or being "sick" (hangover from friday night)
So I just got the hard word from the girl, and i'm "spending quality time" with her, guess i shouldn't say i'd rather be on my bike ( my TL )

So all you peeps have a good ride and be thinking of me stuck at home with the my bike oh i mean girlfriend all day before i have to go to work. Sucks to be me.

    Bird vs Knee Slider

A great ride round the loop today, Zapf's rides always seem to attract good numbers with today being no exception I think about 22 in total. Good to meet some new faces.
    Nice bike Top Cut
Knee Slider 1/Bird 0 the result of a bird at ???? km/h hitting a slider in the photo.

Did everyone else get home ok? How come no-one's posted a post ride report? Or has it been posted in another thread and I'm just too knackered to spot it?

Anyway, that was a good ride. I think it's the first time I've ridden around the corromandel loop. Didn't much like the roads from Thames to Corromandel township, too many 50k areas, too many cliffs right by the side of the road.
I had a thoroughly good time on the roads from Coromandel township to Whitianga though, felt like I was riding well (whether I was or not is another matter...).
I didn't sleep too well the night before the ride, and I reckon that led to me losing concentration a bit in the second half of the ride. Maybe I didn't eat enough lunch/drink enough/keep warm enough too, I dunno. But I didn't really notice I was losing concentration till I had a "oh crap" moment where I went wide on a 45km/h right-hand corner and instead of looking at the road and leaning over more, looked at the ditch.
I ended up only just going off the road and riding along in the ditch/gravel for a bit, the bike bouncing and waggling underneath me. I put my right foot down on the road, dunno if it helped or anything, but anyway I stayed upright, just kinda rode through it and made it back onto the road.
That's the third time I've done that in the 16 months I've been riding. IIRC, the first time was similar except it was in miranda. The second time I went for a ride in the ditch (on the wrong side of the road too, jeeze I was lucky) resulted in me ending up in a creek and Firefight coming and picking me and the bike up.
I guess I've gotta learn to tell when my concentration is going before I scare myself. It was kinda weird going offroad, it was like I was witnessing what was happening and was wondering when I was going to fall off. Like I was at a crossroads there where I could've either ended up lying in the ditch or back on the road riding home like pretty much nothing happened. Needless to say I'm glad I took the second route.

    On another note...
sAsLEX, did you get any cool picks of me hanging off the bike going around that corner?

Oh and for anyone interested, I was keeping track of the km's between fuel stops. I got 82km from Papakura Autobahn/BP to Mobil Kopu, 60km from Mobil Kopu to Corromandel township, 130km from Corromandel Township back to Kopu going the way we went through Whitianga and stuff. And it was 133km from Kopu back home to Titirangi.

[edit: oops, posts arrived while I was typing]

You did well mate I tryed hard to shake you on the Kopu to Coro Rd but you stayed in there. Could'nt have a Zeal pass me now could I.
What would other Duc owners say

More time on the Rd and you will learn how to deal with those moments and not run wide.
