"...you meet the weirdest people riding a Guzzi !!..."
Well, I was very privileged to be down in Wellington with Kari this weekend to say a final good bye to Grubb. The weather was just fabulous, I got to hug a few of the BRU crewI also got to hug many of the people I met last year, and I actually managed to get through one round of Mountains O Mourne too. The plan was for two, but I could not manage that it seemed.
Here are a few pics that I would like to share of the day.
Pic 1: Scone maker extrordinare - Nana mac, with Bretts sister Flea
Pic 2: Some nice sounds in the morning
Pic 3: Beware, this is what happens when someone is stupid enough to start a thread dissing the crew - We DO NOT smell like Poo! Ok Gubby wubby![]()
Another thanks to Kari for organising. Nice to meet some semi-familiar faces too ! And thanks for encouraging Agata to actually get out there and ride
And super thanks for the trailer and Bren for stopping on the side of the road. Bike blew out power to the fuel pump. All sorted now.
Thanks for all coming around this weekend .. and for the positive thoughts and energies sent from those who could not make it .... It was fantastic to such an amazing group of people to come and share the final lap of Grubs journey with me ... and just a total blessing ....
Having finally completed the 1000 k cruise ... Grub is now back where he belongs ... as shown in Mahas pictures .. .there is no more a fitting place for my lover to be scattered ... ashes to ashes ...

the really happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery when on a detour.
Nice one Kari!
It was a fitting way to send off a biker and thanks for the opportunity to be there.
You impressed with your effort and determination to get Grub around a C1KC, I enjoyed the fang as I tried to keep up with Sparky & Sels and the Bar-b-que finished off a great weekend.

Kari, Brett surely would be proud of everything you have accomplished, over the last 12 mths, you have made sure Brett's death was not in vain and yesterday was a perfect fitting tribute to spread his ashes and a place we we can acknowledge him every time we pass either on the hill or on SH1.
It was great that on the 3rd attempt he got to complete the 1000k which was special as it was up to his lover to get him around the course .. I still remember you telling me how a yr ago he told ppl he would be ok as you were on your way .. so totally fitting that you helped him to complete this ride
thank you for allowing us to be a part of this day, it was really special on more than one level
RIP Brett, your never forgotten
