GSX750F Katana - front sprocket removal

I've got a new chain and sprockets to fit on the Katana. Stripped and cleaned everything down and I'm ready to rebuild. However, I can't get the front sprocket off as I'm not sure which way it's threaded.
Am I right in assuming that it will have a left hand thread rather than a right hand so that it tightens under acceleration.
I've tried lossening it in both directions but it doesn't move either way. Before I give it a bit more weight, I want to be sure I'm turning it the correct way.

    Any advise?
I'm only wearing black until they develop something darker

    As above.

Still got the old chain on? Put a large screwdriver or piece of pipe between rear sprocket & chain so it stops the chain from turning then put a bit of pipe on the socket handle or powerbar your using and weigh in!

Do as the others guys have said,If you still have the chain on also, you can get someone to hold the rear brake on as well, helps stop trying to turn the motor over
If you get stuck let me know as I have compressor, rattle gun at home if need be??

Believe me James, I have one BFH but didn't want to use it in the wrong direction.
