The (dis)honorable Nick Smith, when you speak all I can hear is
BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!!
So please fuck off and die.
Go Go, Ninja Dinosaur!!
Oh goodie, it sounds like a few of you are keen to carry on into the evening (and night by the sounds of it). That means we will see you there.
It's a great place, even though it's only a couple of kays down the road from me we have camped there. Feels like you're miles from civilisation yet it's only 10 minutes to home (or the bottlestore).
I won't be camping as I need to get up early-ish the next day to cut more wood in the Akatarawa's (so I don't want to suffer from a hangover either).
I can bring a BBQ or someone can come and pick it up from my place if you need it earlier in the day.
It's a DOC campground and the ranger does come around every evening to collect camp fees for those who want to stay the night. But being a DOC site fees are only something like $8 a person / night.
Should be fun.![]()
I'll stay tooooooo....ummmm how do ya pitch a tent I've got one.....LOL
Glad to be in the fun...see ya's there....
PS: I'll do nibbles....mmmm cheese, crackers, dip...
as i am not looking back over all the posts... my excuse would be...
where the frig is it??
a map please
what a ride so far!!!!
BBQ for the Afternoon, say, around 4pm, so everyone can make it along. I may create a "TAG in the Park" competition for everyone just to make things interesting. No bookings needed to stay over night. Camp fees are paid into an honesty box at the entrance to the camp ground.
Directions: Head down the Wainuiomata Coast road. About 15ks down there will be a fire danger warning, and rite after it, one saying Rimutaka Forest Park. Turn in here.
Head all the way down the road untill you see a sign saying "Campground" to your right. When you see the other bikes, you have reached the right place.
Is the pee wee coming?
A more detailed map of the actual area.
To get there, follow the main road through Wainui heading for the coast.
Forest park entrance is signposted.
Enter where the Kiwibiker logo is.
Follow the road in the forest park (yellow line) and go through the shallow ford (it will be dry this time of year). Twenty or thirty metres past the ford there is a track on your right. (The yellow marker on the map)
This track gets you onto the camp ground.
Find the noisy bastards.
