well I've read in a few different places it's the red one, but only on older Jogs where it is a 6 (i think) wire cdi, newer ones have more. But in saying that, I've never bothered to do it so I can't give first hand advice, just the google kind.

I had a mechanic de restrict the engine by taking out a small ring that's installed somewhere in the carburetor. That was easy for him and it cost me $20. My Job goes like a rocket but still sits at 65kph. If you want to go faster then you should invest in a new CDI - but be warned - the engine was not made to sustain high speeds so it will wear a lot quicker.

You mean the washer in the exhaust?

If you want to go faster without changing the cdi you could also change the variator.

    Hows the derestricting going?

    I sued to have a 2006 AZ50.

Went to Scootling (Akld), got an aftermarket CDI, bigger main jet, needle raised, and pod filter.

It however mysteriously ran better (faster top speed, better uphill, easier wheelies) in the same configuration but with the standard airbox cut open along the bottom...Andreas didnt understand why...

    Differences?
Downhill speed which went from 60 (JUST keeping on the speedo...) to MAYBE 70km?
A certain hill i used to do my hill-climb tests on, max speed went from 40 to maybe 45km.
Fuel economy improved from 3.3/100km to 3/100km

There was the potential of spending another $300+ or so on expansion chamber plus another few $hundy on a variator.
But i just ditched it and went with the UZ125 - think of it as the AZ50 with a FI 125cc in it
