    In need of a bike!

Howdy gents, finally made my move down here from the States and have somewhat accidentally landed in Auckland. I had a car I bought junk out on me almost immediately and am now caught in a motor vehicle dispute over it, but still needing transportation and finally able to put my belongings somewhere other than my back it is time to get a bike.

That said, I am looking for a late model Adventure, Motard, or a street legal Enuduro/Dual-Sport. I would consider other types of bikes, but those are my main preferences. I am just over 6ft and weigh about 93-96 kilos and would like to have a bike I can explore further than Auckland city with so I am looking in the 400cc range at minimum. I have about $4,500-$5,000 that I would like to get a bike and gear for (not much leeway there and would really like to stick to cheaper). I have seen several KTM EXC450's and a few EXC525's go for around this price (or lower) on trademe, but have unfortunately been unable to get the money wired from back home until today.

I am ready to buy immediately if the right bike comes along and passes a PPI (which I will pay for and arrange). Bikes need to be reg'd and wof'd for my purchse since being a foreigner, I know nothing about this system, would be very difficult for me to do, and really can't afford to have a bike that can't be registered or wof'd. I would also be willing to travel a bit for the right bike, so it doesn't necessarily have to be in Auckland.

If any of you ADV'ers have a bike that you think would be a good one for me or know someone that has one, please just let me know!

    Cheers!

LOL! Sorry, couldn't help but laugh! Knowing Oakland, I would consider ending up here a VERY fortunate mistake!

I think they made a "Full House" episode about that actually...

My accident was more an issue of randonimity or fate. I was travelling the islands with a mate and had to drop him off here before heading back down south to settle and that would be when afformentioned car broke down, and hence my accidental residence in Auckland.

Hey mate my brother- in- law just purchased a Harley and selling his FJ 1200 Yamaha. Its in total good niche and been looked after like a lady. He is having second thoughts of selling due to the fact its got sentimental value and he loves it so much that sometimes he sleeps beside it. He is passing it for 5,500 with a lot of extras like saddle bags, exhaust pipes, touring jacket, pack rack, hanes handbook, an oil and filter for next service. Though its done
95500 km. You wouldn't even think it did that mileage. He is offering me this but got no mula. I am interested as well, but too much outgoings. You are more than welcome to look at it. We can swingby your place if you are in
    Auckland.
