Albums you bought for 1 track

Ever bought an album on the strengh of 1 track?
    This can go 2 ways,
The Gordons, Adults and children. Power punk at it's best. The rest of the album for me is boring.

Squeeze, Cool for cats. Bought a best of the Squeeze album and Cool for Cats is prob the worst song on it! Brilliant

    Agree about the Squeeze album.

I bought Meatloaf's 'Bat out of Hell' after seeing a very horny 'Paradice by the Dashboard Light' performance in Holland.

    Great Album.

I bought Iron Butterfly's 'In-a-gadda-da-vida' for the title track.

    Never regretted that.

Pearl Jam for 'better man' - rest was shite.

Velvet Revolvers first for 'fall to pieces' - the rest was very average.

Audioslave for 'be yourself' the rest is excellent.

The Cranberries for 'Zombie' - great album

Andrea Corr's solo based on her 'Corrs" albums - an all round lame effort at least she looks good in the album artwork.

Various Tom Waits and Springsteen albums, based on enjoying previous ones with mixed results......

I think it's like bikes - you really enjoyed that Honda, Suzuki, HD etc so got another Honda, Suzuki, HD etc but it just wasn't the same........ also apply the same to your love life

Worse I bought two albums trying to get one song.

Sevendust had a great song Licking Cream with Some chick from Skunk Anansie (I had to look it up), but I bought Animosity first as it had a song that shared a lyric in the title.

Either way the song is great (on Home), the rest is just drivel on both albums. Try to like it, - nah.

I hate bands that have one song that sounds like another band played it.

Even Blindspott 2nd album had one song that sounded like it came from the first outrageously good album & the rest was trash material. No wonder they broke up.
Don't you look at my accountant.

    Well they blew the horns
    And the walls came down
    Theyd all been warned
    And the walls came down
    They juststood there laughing
    Theyre not laughing anymore
    The walls came down
    Sanctuary fades
    Congregation splits
    Nightly military raids
    The congregation splits
    Its a song of assassins
    Ringin in your ears
    We got terrorist thinking
    Playing on fears
    Well they blew the horns
    And the walls came down
    Theyd all been warned
    But the walls came down
I dot think there are any russians
    And there aint no yanks
    Just corporate criminals
    Playin with tanks

Do it a lot, especially with Mark Knopfler.

My first purchase like that was for "Desolation Row" on Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan. How many decades ago was that????

The only one I can think of is Queens of the Stone Age for this:

I did buy Nirvana's "Bleach" on the strength of Chris Cornell wearing their T-shirt though...

I have dozens. Dire Straits I agree with too.

I can still clearly remember what I was doing the first time I heard Sultans of Swing on Radio Double J as an import. Driving a Truck over Merrylands (Sydney) Railway Bridge. Stopped to listen.

The Leap was enough for Billy too.
