I think it's only adult, if you're going to bed rep someone (which I don't), to PM them 1st and find out why they've posted something that offends you.
My policy is not to take the bad rep, good rep thing too seriously. The only bad rep point I've ever had was given with no explantion. I can only assume it's b/c the giver and I have different views on a topic...

I believe we both got our sole bad rep from the same person; as you say, it's not a reason to fall to the ground and have a wee paddy (frankly, who gives a stuff) but when the person can't and won't defend the bad rep or debate the issue like an adult, it's a bit sad. I pm'd the person in question, but to date they've not responded - although they got it several days ago.
Perhaps they are not as righteous as they like to make out...?

Ok jazbug, it was your choice to bring this out publicly so here's what I have to say apparently in my defense?

Statement: I reserve the right to give out good or bad rep to whoever I want and for whatever reason I feel necessary. You have the same rights btw but if you choose not to use them then so be it, don't enforce your choices on me though!

I gave you your first bad rep for your post #19 of this thread because I disliked the tone of your *public* attack against Lilmsrocker. I think from memory I gave "go easy on the Noob" as a reason for the rep? In reply to this rep you sent me a rather lengthy PM (7 paragraphs) and more or less "fell to the ground and had a wee paddy" ending off with the words "Now lighten up yourself, for feck's sake..." Now jazbug, if you "don't give a stuff" about getting bad rep, like you say, then why did you deride me in a PM after you received one and then continue to say sarcastic comments about me like "Perhaps they are not as righteous as they like to make out" in public?

O come on jazbug, your PM never warranted or requested a reply, you made your point. And as for having to defend or debate the bad rep I gave you, like I've already said you are taking it all too seriously. I have no desire to debate this with you or defend my reasoning for the rep.

FINALLY!! Thank you Zed, for breaking the ice and bringing it out publicly. Maybe if this sort of thing continues, people will stop leaving and we can all get along easier.
