Sensei, I think you might have misunderstood me- I'd never give out bad rep for tales of wheelying etc etc Bikers are supposed to sit around and tell tall tales of their exploits. I love sitting around and talking shit about bikes (all of it true of course.... unless the listener is a cop, then I was obviously exaggerating massively in an attempt to look like a hard core biker... )

I know this has been done to death elsewhere, but I can see that this is a community and therefore people will talk about non bike related stuff. Hell I've posted maybe half my posts in threads that have nothing to do with motorbikes. But there's a lot of it to wade through if you use the 'new posts' link. Maybe we need to have a way of searching for new posts and excluding the rave on section, so bike nerds like me can find the new bike stuff easily?

Does the rep thing do more harm than good? It makes one feel all warm and fuzzy when you get good rep, whereas bad rep winds some people up. From personal experience it seems if you post something funny, you'll get tons of good rep. I imagine this could become somewhat addictive ie: "wow, how much rep will I get if I post THIS...". I got probably half of my megre supply of rep from two posts, and it was tempting to find something even funnier..... Obviously, people give good rep cause they like the funny stuff, but maybe the rep feature is the reason there's so much...erm...non bike related stuff? And bad rep in some cases just seems to make enemies of people who have never met...

Whatever, Zed. It was hardly a paddy; it was an explanation of why I said what I did, and perfectly reasoned, I thought. I thought you might care to explain why you disagreed with me, because I was genuinely interested in your perspective, and would rather have discussed it than starting some silly slanging match- which you appear to specialise in, and (I think) most people I know would recognise that I do not.

The last 'lighten up' comment was meant in good humour- you have chosen to take it differently. Sorry about that. Now, if you are going to make this public, then do me a favour and don't turn it into a silly 'here am I, outing the baddie' thing, without accurately portraying the essence of what I said to you- which was perfectly balanced and in fact concurred that I probably should not have said part of what I said. In fact, I believe I have already apologised about that to the person in question, in a PM. If I was *really* going to throw a paddy, then I'd give you bad rep too, for this- but I'm not as sad as all that.
Ok: we can ignore each other from now on, if you prefer not to listen to people you happen not to agree with. I really am sorry that you misinterpreted my original PM- I didn't think it was that ambiguous. Let's get back to bikes, as several people have already said... over and out.
