TV3 Doco tonight (bike accident recovery)

    ...what an amazing story.

The daughter of Paul Buckley filmed the recovery of his son who was injured in the bike accident that took his dads life. A year in the making.

Yes, I'm watching it while I read the letter I received today from the Advertising Standards Authority tegarding mine and others complaints about the ACC ads.

    Interesting story all right.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Watching it, not etirely sure I want to though.
It is quite inspirational, but it is probably my biggest fear that I put my family in that position. Especially when I have my wife or one of the kids on the back.

    With you on that thought.

It's certainly strange to watch. I'm not trying to be sarcastic here, but is Paul Buckley someone I should have heard of?

Probably not. There is some fella lives down that way with the same name that pretends to race an SV.

I recall the KB RIP BS threads that appeared around the time this tragic accident happened.

The doco was an awesome insight into what a family goes through be it a bike, car or whatever accident.

Yes it was. I was a little surprised at how well they could deal with the guy, and his sentence, but maybe they are just smart enough to worry about the things that really matter.

Buckley Systems possibly... Bill Buckley raced at speedway many years ago, and still has a lot to do with racing.

My eyes were also glued to the tv, prob why I can't sleep now... death is such a hard part of living!

Same here, I dont like taking my son (or anyone) as pillion. The road just looks like any other back road we all like riding on, The guy driving the ute just made a mistake with tragic results (for him and the Buckleys)
A very sobering hour of tele. I have been thinking about all day

    Ride safe everyone
