I have different ring tones for different callers. #1Son's into metal, so "Enter Sandman" for him. #2 is "March Into the Sea"; #3 is some piece of techno.
For biker friends, "Born to be Wild" would be too much of a cliche, and "Don't Step on the Grass, Sam" is much better, especially as it builds from being very quiet. For the vifferbabe, it's "Sara" (no, that's not her name, but she likes the track). Can't remember all the others, but it's handy knowing who's calling or texting, and nice to hear some music I like.
Funny, the other day I was talkig to some salesdude on the phone; I had him picked as some boring, pasty-faced, grey-suited cardboard cutout. My cellphone rang, and he said, "Oh nice - Modest Mouse!"
... and that's what I think.
Or summat.
Or maybe not...

Work phone (Nokia 1110i) goes "ring ring" like an old-school telephone and beep for txts. It's about as basic a phone as you can get, that's all it can manage
Personal phone (N95), ringtone is "Rock you like a hurricane" by Scorpians or "Seventeen" by Winger (I'm a douche, so sue me...). Txt tone goes "Beep". Background is a little grim reaper with a huge scythe - it's amusing.
Both of them are usually on silent anyway though so they both just buzz...
