    Best car insurer?

    NZI chargng a friend $75 a month for a 2004 Commodore Exec V6 115,000kms, full cover.

Estimated value (from Carjam) of $17,500

$75 a month sounds like burglary to me. Is anyone out there able to run some numbers for me and come up with a better deal or suggested insurer?
$2,000 cash if you find a buyer for my house, kumeuhouseforsale@straightshooters.co.nz for details

I'd be happy if I had to pay that little for insurance. Call a few places and get quotes.

NZI are not cheap, but they generally offer better cover. Even little things like glass cover, includes headlights and taillights.

There will be plenty cheaper, but not necessarily more comprehensive.

Vero. I cannot say what the rate will be but after the claim I just went through for the house i'd swear by them.

    So easy.

No bullshit, just sorted it out and job done.

Might be something to do with his driving history? I insure my car with NZI, full commercial, 2005 Evo, insured for $34K, costs less than half what he said.

My mrs paid half that on her restricted at 22 with a previous claim, and it was for Subaru Impreza........(at the time N.Zs most stolen car)

Sounds a bit off to me.

    EDIT- Not half, $50.......

Nothing special about it which concerns me.

1994 HSV Senator 215i, 5.7L. Getting some more quotes now, you've got me thinking.

That being said, we have had absolutely bloody briliant service from AMI, can't commend the staff at our local branch enough.

That's why! And I suppose the fact women get cheaper insurance would make a difference!

It still does'nt quite sound right but.......can't hurt to ring around.

The 1994s didn't come with a 5.7l - they had the old 5l jobbie. Is it insured as modified? (does that even count as a modification for this car?)

EDIT: Disregard, I see there was a version of the VR Senator that was available as a 5.7L

As you were. Move along, nothing to see here
