1988 FZR250. I just had a new speedo fitted, new rear brake pads and brake fluid. Indicators fixed, new rear fairings (needs a paintjob). Exup valve fixed, it was frozen shut. Carbs need attention, quoted by Red Baron as $700-$1000 to fix (flat spots and poor fuel economy). Front brake caliper needs an overhaul quoted 1 hours work $67 at cyclespot. There is a photo in my profile, I will try and upload some newer photos soon. How much do you think I should advertise it for? I can't afford to mess with the carbs as my job as a Geotech is coming to an end, so it's either a cheap bike or a car for me.

maybe your carbs could be to do with crap that builds up in them.
i remember when i had an fzr250 it wasnt always the best to start and kinda had the same thing.
my mech told me that lots of the 250's from japan had this problem.
anyways the mechanic got the carbs put into some special bath or machine thingy that eats all the crap away and makes em all good. worked a treat.
you could try that first maybe?

Try cleaning the carbs yourself - you've got nothing to lose at this point.

A mate of mine watched that movie about 20 times (yes, he's a finance lover). He knew just about the entire movie off by heart, and would keep quoting random sections (not just one line) of the movie.

There are some carburators on tardme, an expired listing. I have the person's email so I can contact them. How would I know if these would be any good though. For all I know over the internet they could be just as fucked as my ones. From what I got from the guy at spectrum there is no way just to look at a carb and see if it's good or shite.
