There are some carburators on tardme, an expired listing. I have the person's email so I can contact them. How would I know if these would be any good though. For all I know over the internet they could be just as fucked as my ones. From what I got from the guy at spectrum there is no way just to look at a carb and see if it's good or shite.

You raise a good point there. Dig Frosty out to come have a look at the carbs if they are in the Auckland region. I'm sure he won't mind me volunteering him .

That may be a better bet than getting some different carbs.

Is the problem with the carbs simply a jet one, or is it diaphragms, jets, floats, seals, needles, or what?


main jets will run you about $15-20 each (4 needed), pilot airs about the same, but as for diaphragms, forget it.

On another note, buckets and bits have a 2KR and 3LN being wrecked at the moment. These models of FZR250 should have carbs that are okay to use on your bike. email them at parts@motorcyclesnz.co.nz

I've emailed buckets and bits and victorian motorcycle wreckers. I've been trying to get my bike in to be looked at, but honda won't touch it, red baron and spectrum are booked and they both don't really want to touch it either. Spectrum took a quick look at the exup and listened to the bike and said he'd rather not take on the job as it would be a waste of my money and his time. I'll try and get a friend to take the bike to red baron sometime during the week as they said they would have a listen. What I need though is for someone to actually look at them and see what is wrong with them, so I'll try and get it booked in somewhere. I asked red baron to clean the carbs and it sounded like they didn't want the job, as mike went on about how fzrs are a mess with carb probs, blah blah blah.
