Arent you a - Tell your knob jockey boys in blue to stop blocking off the beaches if they knew the waves was going to be as small as Dangerous Bastards penis, there was no need for a beach shutdown.

And by the book you have to atleast convince us you are worried for our safety, to hype this Tsunami up so we get more of a wake up call.

    Derrr....

They wouldn't shut off a beach if they KNEW it was 4cm....

Weather is shit anyhow... Who would want to be at the beach?

I take you didn't see what that wave did in Samoa then... Hence the reason for the "concerns."

Go to bed on time, you'd have been up early enough to hear the warnings.

Many wanted to be on the beaches for their own reasons and since the beaches are available to the public they can and should be able to do what they want.

We have previously learnt that Tsunami's dont carry enough to cause causualtys in NZ.

Go to bed on time? You sound just like the recruiting officer "Go get some more life experience".

And just like ANY public place, it can be closed down for safety reasons....

Samoa thought they were sweet too.... as did Indonesia... and Papua New Guinea a few years ago.... just to name a few. The day people think, "it's just another false alarm" is the day that NZ will be visited by a Indonesian sized "ripple."

Sounded like you were sleeping the day away and that was why you missed the warnings? Think I misread the "wakeup call" comment.

Done a stint in recruiting... and "getting life experience" is for the younguns....

More like BS reasons, foreinstance im in Hibiscus coast, we are on a hill with cliffs surrounding the beaches, theres no way a tsunami is going to do any proper damage. Its not that there is a wave coming its how big and travelling at what speed hitting where. Im pretty sure the people in the center could estimate at what speed and possibly how dangerous the wave was in Indonesia. Although it was unfortunate tragedy in Samoa they had substantial reports on how fast and big the wave was travelling to NZ. Police knew this.

Sleep is good, the more sleep the better, it wasnt the fact about needing more life skills its the way the recruiter said it. The whole "we are so good and old, you are nothing, north shore streets is very hectic at these times". I havent passed NCEA leve2 but I pissed all over the physical appraisal, the pushups, wall jump reach, K run.

Take it up with the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre - they are the ones who issue the warnings. The Police just try to clear the beaches of the stupid ones.... should leave it to Darwin to sort them out, really....

And Samoa didn't get a hell of a lot of warning - it was just off their shore. Only the bright ones worked out big earthquake = possible Tsunami.
