I wouldn't read anything too sinister in this. It's actually quite refreshing to see a works team actually sharing information between both of the riders for the benefit of the whole team, rather than an adversarial approach that doesn't always work for both.
Besides, Lorenzo and Rossi are completely different sized riders, with different riding styles. The same settings might work on some tracks, but I'd speculate they'd more often not for both riders.
I'd also speculate that Lorenzo is faster on the Friday because he's got the fearlessness of the young fella, whereas Rossi builds to a better speed cause he's old and wily now...
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.
