Rossi and Spies performance this weekend (3-4 October)

So fortunatly I have MySky and was recording all the racing action this weekend, but it turns out that MotoGp was right between the two superbike races... why cant MNZ co-ordinate this well?

    anyway..

Was very interesting racing for both WSBK and MotoGP championships. The actual races were a tad on the boring side to be honest, but have left the championships wide open again.

I found it interesting that Spies on a Yamaha came fourth (Race2) some 18 seconds behind Haga (1st) who is the other championship contender, and Rossi on a Yamaha came fourth some 24 seconds behind Lorenzo (1st), also the other championship contender...and BOTH said that it was their rear tyre lack of grip that was to blame, just not Yamaha's day was it, but a lot of similarities all the same.

    Your thoughts?

I actually had a spoiler warning in the title... someone has removed it!

Anyway, I'm a bit torn between Spies winning the WSBK championship in his rookie year and Haga finally getting a championship after 13 years of hard work. Does he finally deserve it or has he had enough chances already?

But Go Rossi for the MotoGP, I so hope he does it this year.

I've been doing a fair bit of reading in relation to F1 just recently as i had an involvement some time back at a high level with the whole Silverstone/Donington F1 debacle.

In a recent article Bernie Eclestone mentions Michael Schumachers come back and accepts thats despite being one of the very best drivers ever, he's not that popular.

As i read it I compared that to the huge and ever expanding popularity of Valentino Rossi who, despite all his titles, is still the rider most like to see win. This is in stark contrast to schumi when many wanted him to fail. I guess a lot has to do with the personality of Rossi and lack of for Schumacher.

This season's racing is one of the best and as always I'm a huge Rossi fan what ever he rides and in WSBK it has to be Haga this year surely, how many times can he come so close to the title.......
The older i get the faster i used to be.......

I'd like to add that Jorge Lorenzo is rapidly gaining status to become the next Valentino Rossi, some of his antics may seem a bit "forced" but his astronaut performances were bloody funny, esp if you saw him doing his routine in the garage during practice/qualifying.

Spies said his FRONT tyre was the problem, and how can it not be Yamaha's day when they WON the GP race AND the first WSBK race?

Haga will have to win both and hope spies finishes no higher than 3 in at least one race. WSBK season is very far from over.

Lorenzo needs to win every race and valintino needs to finish no higher than 4th in one of the next two races.

So in both championships you need outside influence to take the crown away from Valentino and Spies. Not impossible odds but i can see a very good ending to most probably the best season we have had since the kevin and rainey days.

How do you compute that? Haga is 10 points ahead of Spies ATM. The only way for Spies to be guaranteed to win the championship is for him to win the next 2 races - then if the points are equal with Haga, Spies wins because he has won more races

Other than that scenario, it's all on... with the smart money being on Haga

Sorry i had it the wrong way around
i blame the moon definitly not the red wine.

You are right Haga needs to win one at least.
Or finish one race no lower than 3rd if spies does win.
