I second that!Originally Posted by That Guy
He would have to fuel up etc anyway so when he came into the pits, why not do the rider change?
Will you be helping Jay as well or are they going soloOriginally Posted by dickytoo
Its not that extradonary, tony rees is doing it solo aswell. This isn't even an endurance race, its just a slightly long race. An endurance race is a 6 hour, 12 hour or 24 hour race. In those races you use either 2 or 3 guys and each person does up to 3 hour stints. These guys have probably done the longer races before so this is pretty short for them.Originally Posted by Motoracer
All will be revealed on sunday, but i can't see why not so long as each guy doing it solo is fit enough.
I'm looking forward to this one. Just from the people i work with, McKay and Todd Sutherland are running a 'Kiwi Rider team R6', Bruce Saunders AMPS riding a daytona 955i and triumphnz are entering the Daytona 650 - and i have a press pass- not that you really need one at Puke - Should be a huge day.

Yep, I'm looking fwd to it too.
Let's hope it stays dry for it.

I seem to recall Croz winning the first two NZ Castrol 6 hour races solo...
ACC - It's where the Enron accountants all went.
Not sure about Jay. He's riding Derek's old ZX6RR and Derek has got the brand new one. Jay seems to have his own guys helping him out anyway.Originally Posted by Ivan
I think derek was going to partner with someone called troy for the race.
He was riding pretty fast at Mansfield the other weekend. I thought he would have found the transition from a 125 to a 600 a bit much but he's doing pretty good.
So far, all i know is that a bunch of guys are coming up from Wellington and crashing at my place and we'll go out to the practice on saturday and work out the team duties.
Wari- I can understand you!!
Seriously though, looks like just what the racing scene needs. Lets hope it goes well.

and tony has some considerable time in the seat when it comes to 24 hour races etc. Still one problem for him tho, as hes doing the aussie superbikes and the last round was on the weekend just gone theres not enough time to get the bike back. So if any of you remember that pre-production thing he did some demo laps at paeroa a couple of years ago, well thats being turned into a race bike as we speak, and the big problem with that is the only mods its gonna have is suspension, exhaust, power commander and a dyno run on the way up to the race. hes even having to borrow his parts guys wheels for the race. anyway hope to see you all there, i got my ticket on the weekend so hopefully the weathers all good.Originally Posted by k14

Troy O'Donohue is partnering with Derek. Troy was riding Dave McDonald's 900SS at Manfield last weekend, and sometimes rides the "Steadman Special". He's no slug.
