I can't really help but thought I might just add that my RGV managed to modify its own engine which involved it completely seizing up...... now I have 3 RGV's.... none going on the road

www.rgv250.co.uk and http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums do a search for engine mods and suspension setup.
There is heaps there to get you started.
What are you thinking of doing? There are quite a few people here who have two strokes.
Ray Clee is the local guy I have talked to about mine, but might be a bit far away for you.....
Lets hear about what you have planned

Hey you interested in selling them or one with all the road trim (fairing damage no worries) and dead engine as I am thinking of putting my race RGV250 back on the road for a run around and learners bike for the boys. PM me!

    RGV250

Hi Guys! where to start? lol. My RGV is was the last of the unrestricted RGV's brought into OZ the SP which came out with the dry clutch never came here! so the RGV is basicly the poor mans Aprilia lol. At the moment i have GSXR1000 front calipers to go it i want to get a brembo master cyl on the cheap some where but hard to find a cheap one any where! it has already has braided lines, I can pick up a SP front end for it but they are $1600 But the SP is basicly a race front setup but i think $1600 would be better spent on maxton springs in the front and a ohlins rear shock? engine wise i would like a race sapc unit but hard to find, im up for pistons now and are looking/thinking of forged instead of oem cast, but i want to increase compression so have to look closer at piston makes before buying gaskets of differents thickness! im leaving the rod std for now, as the bottom end has only done 18,000km. Im going to modify the clutch front housing as dont know if you other guys find that when the bike is idling the clutch makes a hell of rattle! ive heard its normal but i hate it so i have it apart now and i plan to bush the shaft to see if that tightens the rattle up? carbs will be tricky as im running a different oil mix and havent made my mind up on the air cleaner? id like to hear from ppl who have modified their bikes and also ppl with race bikes to hear what they have done? i am a member of the www.rgv250.co.uk but as far as getting parts its to expensive with exchange rate and to far with postage rates! NZ is much better for me!

haha, I am having complaints about the stuff cluttering the garage, so most of it probably needs to go, got a race bike there that might be going for a reasonable price if sold soon, got an electrical problem or something, runs on two cylinders down low but cuts out to one higher up in the revs, or so I have been told. got a full arrows system and a jimmied up ram air system, seems a pretty mean bike, dyno'd 65hp at the rear wheel apparently. Built by ray clee.

HOPEFULLY though I will be getting my RGV back before christmas, was talkign to ray today, YAY :cool2:

The bike can never be a road bike, it has a cut down rear subframe, racing lume (i dont know how to spell it lol) and ram air which needs fine jetting tuning on the day of racing to suit atmosphereic conditions.....
See Robert Taylor for any Ohlins requirements www.northwest.co.nz

I was using a sleeved down RGV250 cylinder on my bucket and one of the best things I did was weld up the plug hole and put the plug straight in the top and remachine the chamber to look more like a proper TZ/RS chamber. I was careful to keep the compression EXACTLY the same and nothing else was altered. The power jumped up over the whole powerband. I think Suzuki made it how they did because of the front radiator so you will need to check clearance.
