    What size plug leads?

Since the FZR is resting due to fried regulator, I'm going to move the coils to clean up the look a little and I might as well shorten them by replacing 'em as there is excess wire.

What size leads do I need?

1987 FZR1000 std coils and plugs

    Wire only says 'Hitachi 1987' , 7mm O/D

    Cheers

Umm...you've answered your own question...7mm leads....

But measure the holes in the coils/plug caps where the leads go in, you may be able to fit 8mm.

The coils are a tad under 7mm, so 7 is snug.

My main thought was that there are different size cores....maybe not

Marginally different depending on the material the core is made from and the outer diameter of the wire. If you are using the stock coils just stay with 7mm wire, preferably copper core for the best performance.

Goin further I'd say Only use copper core wire, not car stuff. You'll find out why.
