Do you have a plasma TV? Have you had the Prime TV/Sky Olympics on a lot? Have a look at some other material and see if you can still see those olympic rings when there is a light background. If you can they have burned into your plasma display. Hopefully this will fade and eventually go away in time.
I called Prime yesterday and asked them to tone the rings down so that my plasma and others would not have to be showing these rings for the next months. The reply I got was that this was not their fault. It was because of my "settings". I find this very disappointing since it shows a lack understanding and a self centered approach. Their attitude is that it can not be their fault and the customer is to blame. I have had my plasma TV on the same settings for about a year and never had any issues resembling this. I therefore believe that this problem has nothing to do with my settings but everything to do with the fact that Prime/Sky insists on broadcasting material that can damage plasma screens. I find this a remarkably self centered and silly approach since it would be easy for them to fade the rings to a gray similar to the gray of the Prime logo and then no one would have this problem.
Since Prime/Sky does not seem to be a customer service oriented company and it does not seem to want to implement simple measures for their benefit I will aviod doing any business with them in the future and I encourage any others to consider their dealings with this company carefully.
