    Won't detect neutral when hot

    Hey guys,

I have a 98 cbr600 which when hot wont detect neutal. By this I mean the actual neutral gear is still there but the neutral light wont come up and if i put the side stand down it stalls as if you still had it in gear.

I have a feeling its an electrical problem as the light usually comes back on when the bikes weight is on the side stand.

Any ideas on a quick fix?

    Cheers,

    John

If you are sure it's physically in neutral then it seems reasonably certain you have a faulty neutral switch, or possible (given that it comes on when on the side stand) a loose connection or broken wire.
Not sure of the actual connections on the CBR600 but if you have a wiring diagram I'd be checking everything on that circuit.
    Good luck

Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that, who cares? ...He's a mile away and you've got his shoes
