Phew the bike parts have pretty much been fixed up after yesterday and should be on the bike by Wednesday. Will be there on Sunday to kick some ass, or attempt to anyway

Just had an email from Kartsport Welly. They asked me for approx. numbers of people attending as they'll be opening the shop.
Please ensure you utilise them rather than bringing your own food.
"...you meet the weirdest people riding a Guzzi !!..."
Well I figured about 25 bikes to 40 riders overall 60 odd people.
Should be a good day, weather forecast is okayish at this stage.
"...you meet the weirdest people riding a Guzzi !!..."
Unsure of that. I'll chat to Skunk about that.

two more sleeps to go!
Ready and keen. Bike is run in. (Started twice). Can't wait to do some laps.
I predict faultless engine performance and a glorious riding display. (for someone).
See you all on sunday.
Were we talking about this being an MNZ sanctioned event a one stage?
No, just fun event.
just to remind :-
THIS IS WHAT IS HAPPENING.
9.00am scrutineer
9.30am rider's briefing
9.35am practice
2 or 3 A & B races 10 laps each clockwise.
Lunch 30 mins
(may have a couple of 5 lap A & B races if enough time )
2 hour endurance race running clockwise direction - can ride on your own or have 2 riders.
Must have a minimum of one pit stop - sole rider jumps off - does one lap around his bike and jumps back on (would equate to same time as second rider jumping on)
Bike must be stopped at pitlane, pushed through pits and started again on dummy grid.
A & B riders will run together as the track is big enough to accomodate this.
However, as this is a fun event, please ensure the A riders be considerate of the B riders when passing.
Then if anyone has energy left, we do another couple of races afterwards in reverse direction.
Prizegiving and drinks at the end of day.
MAKE SURE YOU ALL ATTEND THE PRIZE-GIVING. THERE WILL BE SOME SCOOTERAZZI-SPONSORED SPOT-PRIZES YOU MAY WIN !!!

smell of buckets

what a nice way to spend the day.
Yes 4 strokes are for homos. Homo-sapiens that is, who have realized bigger is better.
I have been spending the whole day prepping the bike and my gear but I have a small problem. I haven't been successful in putting nylon on the front axle on each side of the forks. Because of the wings I have on the sides of the bike (you know what I'm talking about, the huge nylon blocks) I have never had the front axle dig into the ground in a crash. Ever. The rest of my bike is nyloned extremely well and has been crash tested many times and all that I seem to leave behind me in a crash are white lines from the nylon.
So basically, will I pass scruiteneering tomorrow without nylon on the front axle? The rest of the bike is more than race ready, it's crash ready. The bike meets all of the necessary requirements otherwise (and then some).
Cheers
If you're confident it's okay, Hamish, then it'll be fine![]()

Sweet cheers Chris. It has passed scruiteneering many times at Kaitoke and has been crash tested there many times, as recent as last Sunday in fact. See you all tomorrow, definitely looking forward to it!
Me too,...as I listen to the hail on my roof.....![]()
