I had an OK days racing. I was gutted to be taken out by Gorge that took some time to fix the bike and droped us down in the placings. Thats racing. Big thanks to F5 Dave for your help and advise. Caleb looked to be getting more comftortable on the bike also. Had one moment on the grass going arount Trude hope I didnt bust your confindance.
Thanks to the organisers to.
Caleb is going great guns out there! Every time he passed me he never came too close,.... as for you, I know you can ride on grass so figured you'd get round me, or crash, either way it wasn't my problem, other lesser riders would have tried to stay on the track and have taken me out by doing so, so all sweet![]()
Hi Chris
Thanks for the frame. Just wondering if you have the dog bone and the spacers for the rear swing arm axil bolt ?
Let me know. marshland@marshland.co.nz
It looks like it might be a project for the CB125-CB150. I have a motor and a complete bike. It should fit in quite well.
We are at Ruapuna this weekend so I'm interested for see if my lap times will come down.
Cheers Wallace
Hi Wallace,
Everything I gave you from the frame is all I had for that. Bet a person of your skill could make them though![]()
"...you meet the weirdest people riding a Guzzi !!..."
A discussion was had about the #8 rider John (the one on the 150 Pitbike) and that a couple of people thought he may have done more laps than was announced.
So,...I decided to recount them. Yes, an error was made, we were short by 5 laps. Sooooo..... this brings his total laps up from 133 to 138. Still in 3rd place however, with Fishy on 140 & Sketchy on 143.
1000 apologies for this.
Nudey.

Yeah, I'm another B-grader who did the whole thing... apart from the time it took Mark to fix my clutch after I crashed not long after the start. LOL, and my lower right leg is still multicoloured from that spill
Awesome to see the recount moved John closer to Fish and Sketchy, those 3 certainly did pass me lots!

Maybe this isn't the welly way (or even the thread?), but one does wonder at what stage it gets suggested that John buys a legal bucket?
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.
Actually I started feeling a little bad. My statement is without proof. I've never really looked at his engine (just kinda thought is was some wobbly pitbike thing), I've just heard that it is stuffed full of competition parts (actually I can't tell you if his engine is road based). But if rumour is true & it isn't legal then should abide by same rules as everyone else. As did Richban when his Vespa was fast enough & he did the honourable thing & bought a FXR.

Performed the dastardly deed

Went to the dark side

At the end of the day, John rides pretty damn well and as fast as the pitbike is, it looks like quite a handful to get around the track.
When he starts leaving the "normal race winners" behind in a straight line, I would reckon that would be the time to have a "chat" about it to him..
(BTW Just my opinion)
"...you meet the weirdest people riding a Guzzi !!..."
So if he rides pretty well then no one should have any issue if he does it on a bike that follows the same rules that everyone else does? That would be fine of course. And it may well be legal (I can't really remember what the engine looks like)
I mean if we allow people to race on bikes that aren't strictly legal to get them hooked/bolster numbers (again I'm not aiming this at John) surely there should be a sort of time limit on that? Again Rich is a good example.
Skunk's TF will take a C model RM125 barrel. I mean it isn't likely that he'll beat Glen, so there's no problem with that. Or TZ's GP125, I'm sure he's gagging to fit that 34mm carb.
At what point do the rules not apply?
Sorry I've taken the thread waay off line & the above isn't meant in a sarcastic tone, but just as questions we have to ask ourselves.![]()

I hear what you saying, and you are completely right.
Putting a 34mm carb in place of a 24mm on a 125 would give it quite an increase in power, more than you could get from a water-cooled 100, IMO.
In Welly, we haven't followed the rule book to the last letter, but most riders know what to do and don't abuse them anyway. I don't recall seeing any XR200 or RG150 engined machines, but I could be wrongj/k
