Thanks Dave. There are no demo 'new' S3 down this end of the Nth Island. The mag reviews will all be out any day so that may help the decision process. Another question since you seem to know so much about Triumphs. Have you ridden the new Speedmaster 865cc vs the previous 790cc model? If so was it noticeably more powerful. I ask because I briefly owned an America. Loved it but it just lacked enough power for me to let it go- and now I want it back.

I can say from experience that the difference between a Thruxton and a Bonne is reasonably pronounced - longer legs and more snap. It would follow that the results would be similar in the Speedy - not a 'startling increase' - but not too bad. I think they are a cool bike.

Thanks again I was hoping you would say that. I saw a new blue/black Speedmaster at Anza waiting for the proud owner to collect. Absolutely stunning in those colours
