That is an easy fault to fix. Cut it open and weld the offending rattly bit down.

Yep. They will need super high quality oil in them - ordinary engine oil rapidly turns black in the hyo's - maybe overheating it and oxidising - dunno, but it doesn't look happy.
Having seen a couple of these engines mistreated, I do wonder how well they will go in competition. So far I have seen pistons are bores incredibly worn, and a smashed gearbox from mistreatment. In all fairness, I doubt the engine oil had been changed regularly on first example.
They might do something about the bone-hard suspension too... they are fine on a dead-smooth surface, but any undulation at all and they are airborne. A GT250R with some emulator lovin' up front, and some racetech valvin' up back would be just delightful. I suppose they aren't allowed to touch those bits for racing.. it's so simple though - why can't the factory do it? Surely it's only 20 bucks worth of steel.

"What Steve said pretty much summed it up."
"I did axactly as you said and it worked...!!"
"Wow, Great advise there DB."
