Round 6 plus Tui fuelled blunder

    #142 KR1 (raced)
Traveling to Manfield Saturday morning resulted in a stiff neck from looking skyward for the entire journey. Just as well I wasn’t driving. Weather forecast wasn’t good but on arrival looked promising. Thank goodness I hadn’t fitted the wets. Anyway after the formalities were over practice started, I had made a couple of adjustment for this round, which included a gearing change. Post classic practice, wrong move, gearing way to low, on the limiter for half the back straight and from the finish line on the front straight. Was going to change the gearing before the next practice (F3) but not enough time. Better to at least qualify than start off the back of the grid. Check qualifying times, holy shit 1:20s, 8th in posties (2nd junior) and 13th in Superlite (7th F3). Changed gearing anyway.

Race one posties, just rode round by myself and stayed just in front of AJ for 2nd junior home. Have discovered that it is possible to stand the bike up with my knee after a slide. I’m sure the bike wouldn’t have ejected me as my butt had sucked the seat up.

Race one Superlite, bit of a touchy subject, ring snapped in left hand cylinder. Piston and cylinder destroyed. Bugger!
Time to pack up, watched the 2nd posties race from the stands. Looked liked scracha and frenchy were having a bit of a battle, scracha nearly had him going through splash. Should have waited till Dunlop, looked like he had more speed on the exit. Great race guys. Just wished I was out there.
I hoped I had done enough to finish 3rd for the year.
Now the wait was on till prize giving, time for a few tui s and a few more and a few more. Seeing as it was quite likely I was going to get third I had a wee speech prepared in my mind, but alcohol over ruled that. Mel announces Post classic junior Pre 89 and third is…. On my way to collect the trophy some smart arse says, “get a Honda”. Well that was it; all I could say was Kawasaki 1, 2, 3 and walked off. Go the Tui!
Here’s what I should have said: Thanks to the Victoria Motorcycle Club for another awesome winter series. Thanks to family and friends for all their support. And of course my sponsors, The Rutland Arms Inn, Comtel Systems, Art & Grace Hair Dressing (wife), AES Auto Electrical and Paragon Motorcycles. There we go, all said and done, that wasn’t that hard was it.
See you all next year; unless of course you’re racing at the Cemetery Circuit I’ll see you there.

Great results George. Should have tracked that smart arse down and kicked his arse He wouldn't have been able to put up much of a fight as pissed as he was, and with only one arm. Can't argue with your come-back though. Now get that bike fixed.

Now, that is much more coherent than what you said on Saturday.....

As I watched you walk up I looked at Neil, and said Kwaka 1-2-3 as well... noticing your jacket....
Now, the Get a Honda comment... I suspect I know who it was... and I suspect he is a part time Kawasaki rider

Oh, and congrats on the Third Place.
Shame about the bike going Klack.

So it's your fault Clive, should have known. You jinxed me twice, firstly by saying how reliable the bike was then this. Anyhow it's the talking point amongest the postie juniors and knocking the Kawasakis off the podium. Just wait till next year it'll be another Kawasaki white wash just like the Holdens at Bathurst

Congratulations on you're 3rd place mate. Good fun battles with you in the first couple of rounds. No doubt see you at the track this summer once you've got your bike back together.
