Thanx mate.. interesting reading sort of a grey area ..im not likely to win anything on a very overweight bike with a very overweight rider anytime soon >>>Lolshit the xr 100 engine alone feels like it weighs about the same as my yz 426 with an engine in it just dont wanna build something that is not gonna be legal..It would actually be a xr100 motor in a xl 185 frame

Like others have said, dont think it'll set the world on fire. I run around on a DRZ125, and its easy, cheap fun on that bike. My bro also uses a KLX(same model as the DRZ), and its just to get out on the track and have a bit of fun.

unless you are winning then who is going to pay the money to make a protest ?????

and I cant see you winning on that
    but then you never know

if you find that you cant use it pull the engine out and put another one in
there is nothing wrong with the frame

OK, if you are serious about this bit, then find another engine. The XR100 would be considered a competition engine and by the rules is technically illegal. Sure its probably no faster than an XL100, and maybe you won't be competitive on it, but what happens when you upgrade and get that FXR or CBR150, and decide to sell your XR to another newcomer? Its not worth the hassle, by all means if your local club is happy for it to run, then fine, but by the rules, it wont be a legal bike. If that means anything to you, then you'll do the right thing. I posted in that thread about it not being that hard to build a legal race bike, and alot seemed to agree. Don't mean to be a killjoy but just try and look at the bigger picture and help keep the rules clear.

    Heres an engine for ya!

Yea down here it would clean up the F5 , but in welly it would be an also ran.
There are buckets down here that dont fit all the rules but run at the back so nobody cares.
I say let him run it til he gets a FXR then same for the next guy

Where are you planning to run this? Might pay to give the local organiser a call and ask them if it will be allowed to run at the venue you're aiming at.
