BIKERS’ BIG BREAKFAST
Sunday November 15
Auckland CBD - Burger King Queen Street
8.30am until 10.30am
For Sunday's breakfast, please park on Wyndham Street, High Street, Albert or Lower Albert Street (Queen Street is loading only) from 8.30am and meet up at Burger King on Queen Street from 9am.
This is an unofficial and unaffiliated gathering of motorcycle commuters, other motorcyclists and motorists who believe the proposed ACC levies are unjustified and unfair.
The Bikers’ Big Breakfast will provide motorcyclists (of all engine capacities) with an opportunity to get together for a coffee and possibly a bite to eat, at the various cafes and fast food outlets open in the CBD on a Sunday morning. All are welcome and motorists who support the protests against the proposed ACC levy increases on both motorcars and motorcyclists are specifically invited to join us. It would be appreciated if those on four wheels please park in any of the available car parking garages in the area between Quay Street and Wellesley Street West; and between Albert Street and High Street, if not too inconvenient, so that we might achieve maximum visibility for our motorcycles.
Motorcyclists should please park one motorcycle to a parking bay and pay the required Sunday parking rate for the time they intend to be parked (this will vary according to the roadside parking bay occupied – please check signage to determine rates, hours of operation and maximum stays).
By filling the parking bays in the inner city on a Sunday morning we minimise the impact on other motorists but can raise awareness of just how many parking bays will be lost to motorists if motorcycles are removed from the road as a result of the proposed levy increases.
This gathering is not an official or organised event, rally or ride, it is merely an opportunity for Auckland motorcyclists to get together on a Sunday morning to increase the public’s awareness of motorcycles. For coordination purposes, please email accparkin@gmail.com should you require more information.
