On the back straight at Hampton Downs...

...on a California Superbike School GSXR-600 and thinking to myself...yeah, the bike is way too small for me and I'm all hunched up, showing the plumber's smile, but also thinking, yeah, I'm getting along OK....and then Andrew Stroud overtakes me on a 50 year old Norton.

Surfchick just burst out laughing when I told her camera.
We were out there filming and photographing the Media Day.

They still have spots for the Hampton Downs Ride Days Tomorrow and Friday.

Everyone who I spoke to today said it's an outstanding circuit. I thought it was a blast. PM Mr Dubshack for the shizzle.

    Reports to follow.

You mean the race meetings to date have not been real bikes...? Or is that not real race meetings..?

You just can't trust anything you see on TV these days... Next we'll be finding out that the pictures in magazines of girls are digitally enhanced...

No, we ride down Mt Eden road for a latte.

    Adventure riders FTW!

On a more serious note I will (in the future) make use of one of their training days, it's been several centuries since I was on a track.

    Hey Dave,

It was great to meet you at the track and don't feel bad Andrew passed a lot of guys on that norton including a guy on the Hyabusa you had ridden earlier. :0)

I appreciated the advice too - you were bang on.

Fair Dinkum (I'm Aussie dontchaknow) pinning a Hyabusa remains one of life's treasures.

Was nice to meet you at the track Dave, I was one of the helpers in the grey uniform. The one with the fluffy hair do. You'd be surprised how fast those Nortons are capable of going. Great to see you taking the cruiser out, you looked respectably quick on that.

Yeah - I can move around on the Thunderbird - get a cheek down.

The Hyabusa is a big bike - but it's still very short peg to saddle. I have difficulty getting weight off board - all folded up. The Gixxer just said 'help!'

I was actually countersteering over the flip flop.

Be much faster around there (anywhere) on a 950 SM.
