Cameras will be allowed at Hampton Downs

Hampton Downs Ride Days will allow on board cameras to be used at the Ride Day events.
Internationally, cameras are not allowed at our events, but following some very long discussions we have decided to allow cameras for a probationary period to see if the NZ market has different result to the rest of the world.

This exemption will only apply to Ride Days and not to the California Superbike School where cameras will not be allowed.

So strap on the technology and prove us wrong.....please.

    See you at the track.

Good work guys, they don't seem to cause any problems or trouble at any other track day I've attended

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

what is the issue?Surely having footage only increases the chances of new peoplle coming along?

Part of the issue is the tendancy for some to ride like a nong when the camera's are rolling...

    No, really?

Careful of them racer fellas... they crash without cameras, and often without any reason either

    Same here!

I wasn't planning on attending a Hampton Downs track day till December, but work asked me if I could work saturday and could have time in lieu, so I asked for next friday off, and there were still spaces at the track day, changing the rule to allow cameras is like the icing on the cake.

The listening to your customers award goes to....

Very impressed that you've had another look at the issue. If it ends up a problem you'll get a lot more support (from me at least) for having tried to make it work first. As a customer you can't ask for more than that.

Loving the idea of 6x20min sessions with the early start too.

Will be booking in as soon as work allows (hoping for Nov)!

That's a great decision re the cams - most people with them zone out riding and don't notice they are on. Maybe the best thing would be to take a decent look at the rig on scrutineering...as long as its safe.

Today was awesome at Hampton Downs - a really warm welcome, track is awesome & all bullet cams were go... the bullet cam footage from the weds session isn't far off

Does the school use cameras to coach lines from following bikes?

Will races have cameras banned? Noting the increasing on board footage in major championships.

The ride days and superbike school dont have anything to do with any race events. That will be up to the event organiser.

The school does use cameras for coaching purposes.
